Today was laid the cornerstone of Kotka Tervisemaja to be opened at the beginning of 2017 that will be the biggest private medical centre in the Baltic States, which combines the competence and commitment of different clinics into an integral health service, increasing the availability of family health care and specialised medical care.
Raul Niin, Head of Kotka Tervisemaja, explained that Estonia’s best doctors and medical staff will be working at Kotka Tervisemaja, who do their work based on the needs of patients, high quality of the medical service and potential modern innovations that will help bring service quality and treatment opportunities to a new level.
“Kotka Tervisemaja is aimed to offer high-level medical services to Estonian people as well as to rise to the level of the hub for medical tourism in the Baltics and Baltic Sea region,” Niin underscored. He added that the clinics at Kotka Tervisemaja are oriented to the development of the medical system of the new generation, i.e., that a multidisciplinary medical service is provided jointly, with all the specialised doctors also looking beyond their own domain and being ready to adopt new innovative approaches in their daily work as well as for the development of medicine. The total area of Kotka Tervisemaja is approximately 6,000 square meters.
Kotka Tervisemaja will stand at the location of the Kotka St study complex of the former Tallinn School of Service. Alo Nõmmik, CEO of Kaamos Construction, sees a great opportunity in creating a new, modern and high-quality health centre into a building with a long history. “In 1970, Technical School No. 19 was opened in this building, which successfully operated for more than 30 years as an educational institution, providing numerous renowned specialists with professional education. The client’s wish to give a new meaning to a building that has a history and that has been empty for the past years is an idea that must be put into practice. The client’s trust, our more than 10 years of experience and a professional approach on the construction market can yield nothing but good cooperation,” said Alo Nõmmik.
The architects of Kotka Tervisemaja are Ra Luhse ja Gruuv Architects. The estimated opening time of the new health centre is January 2017
